Brilliant; thanks for that, I had never noticed it.

I’d prefer another convention for italics so that _underline_ can be used for underlining; that would be more intuitive and consistent with e-mail conventions, i.e. Mozilla Thunderbird displays _underline_ as underlined text. Nevertheless it’s usable and I rarely use underlines anyway.

However, though autocorrect works while typing, I can’t find a way to make it parse an imported text document and convert *bold* and _italics_ to the respective formatting. F7 only seems to initiate spell checking but not autocorrection.

I may be missing something obvious here, I know.
