Interestingly, you can also import an externally created continuous document into blocks; I find this a very powerful concept for restructuring and updating older publications as well as re-use existing material.
I do this all the time with Brainstorm; however, I find that Writer’s Blocks offers an edge over Brainstorm, due to it’s 2-dimensional “board” paradigm for laying out the blocks.
That said, I personally don’t think that I would trade Brainstorm for Writer’s Blocks for writing because I prefer the unburdened plain text workspace.
However, for a large number of concurrent small project notes, I find I very much prefer the spreadsheet / board type of overview offered by Notebox Disorganizer / Writer’s Blocks respectively.
Interestingly, my business partner has himself ended up employing a spreadsheet type of organisation, where cells contain tasks, rows represent projects and columns represent priorities.
I am currently working on refining this with Excel / Notebox Disorganizer; ideally, I’d like to be able to “focus” into the information related to each task.
