Alx,

I have tried this, it didin’t help, but you are not going to believe it, but what is happening is that table 2 is in fact being pasted, its just that some how during the paste operation, the table number is being changed from 2 to 1.

It doesn’t happen when I paste the table into other applications, just into AskSam. If I paste as text, rather than a graphic, then the text is pasted without a number at all.

It does mean I get around this now , as I can copy the figure caption as text, paste it into AskSam, edit the Figure number from 1 to 2, then copy just the table, and paste it in as a metafile. However, if numbers are going to be randomly changed, how confident can I be that the data vlaues are being pasted correctly. having said that the other number seem OK.

As an aside Asksam has also only pasted some of the table lines.

These issues apart, the problem that I have found is that although AskSam would be way down my list as general purpose information management tool, it does in principle fill this specific niche, extremely well. If it natively imported tables (something users have been asking for since at least version 3, when I first bought a copy) and I wasn’t having these problems, nothing else come close to AskSam in terms of this particular task.
