Well, I have struggled for a few days with this and thought I was going to end up with AskSam, even though I had serious reservations about it, Not least that it was using 150,000kb of memory at one point

However, I have ended up with my recently purchased MyBase. I need to copy and paste the Word files in, but they retain all the tables and figures. The search is reasonably fast and it is easy to navigate from one highlighted found word to the next AND I can create an exe file of the database to distribute to the rest of the team working on the project.

Its not as fast as AskSam, but this is made up for by the inclusion of tables and figures. It also, even after 20 minutes of use, still only uses 1700kb of memory.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am certainly glad I had a look at ADM.
