Is everyone aware that there is a FREE PDF to TXT conversion utility?
As I recall it doesn’t handle figures and probably not tables either. I haven’t used it in a while—it may be a DOS program.
Also, I know that InfoSelect has all kinds of problems, but if I recall correctly from when I tried it years ago, it did not store all documents, etc. in one file. One could import docs into separate files and then open IS to search all of them or only open a single file that you wanted IS to search. (I prefer not putting all my document eggs into one file basket for fear of corruption ruining all the eggs.)
Perhaps the best solution for finding stored info would be to have all info in OLE-type files and a PIM that could read and search all of the files, AND could create topic links to them in a manner similar to Zoot or GrandView.
