Wojciech, below is a post I sent just now to the NB list in as a response to a message from someone excited about the possibility that NB may be ported to the Mac platform; I think it covers some of my concerns, and I see that Graham in his response to you covered other concerns that I share:
I wouldn’t hold your breath about the Mac port. In theory NB sounds good, but a careful reading of this list (ie. the NB list) reveals that there are just too many quirks in NB for a product that is this mature. Part of the problem may be that NB has never really transcended its DOS roots.
One aspect of the program, the indexed, searchable data base, Orbis, has been eclipsed by such programs as X1 that index and search every word in every file on a computer.
The notes aspect of NB is awkward at best, and does not compare well with Biblioscape, or working with a separate program such as MDE InfoHandler, ADM, or UltraRecall.
