Steve,

We used to have problems all the time with Word, but less so recently. I think that 2003 is rather better than the earlier versions. However, I agree with your comments, and could go on for pages about Word corruption issues, causes and solutions - but won’t.

Are you familiar with the Tech-Tav macro suite for long document management. http://www.tech-tav.com/macro.htm

Its main function is to replace the distasterous Word Master Document feature, but it has several other useful tools.
