Alx,

Its all a nightmare and I have come to the conclusion over the last few weeks of trying to resolve several software issues that all programs are rubbish. I don’t really mean that of course, but everytime I think I have found a solution, I discover a fatal flaw.

Biblioexpress is fine and I suggest my students use it as a basic bibliographic program. The other free programs to look at are Scholars Aid at http://www.scholarsaid.com and Jabref at http://jabref.sourceforge.net/

Biblioscape shows the most promise, but it is still rather flakey - having said that, even with regular crashes I have never lost any data, but there are several annoying bugs.
