Thanks for the heads up on the Texnotes sale. I snagged it. I’ve long been intrigued by Texnotes, no doubt because of its dazzling visual appearance. There are also some innovations in data management, with the concept of visually manipulable notebooks. I’m just not sufficiently motivated to spend hours testing a program. So, I must buy it and then test in actual use, which means waiting until a suitable project comes along. In the mean time, I just try to determine what kind of project it would be most useful for. Sometimes it never comes along, as has been the case with InfoRecall.
One negative that to me shows that the developer doesn’t think as deeply about how to implement the program, as he thinks broadly about comprehensiveness: Steve Zeoli’s pet complaint, a strong one in a writer’s program, the absence of full panoply of text selection commands, most importantly, double click and drag.
