Simple macro programs

These have been mentioned here occasionally.

I’m looking for a program to store and retrieve at a keystroke simple data like email addresses, names etc.

I’ve used some utilities like this in the past but eventually ditched them because they were too resource hungry.

Are there any that I should consider that are economical and well-behaved? Or should I be looking at other types of software to get this functionality?
