Steve,
One reason to stop using Personal Brain was that I realized that the company has no priority to devlop it further. They are not very responsive and the requests for new features are lost in a black hole (they don’t listen to the users).
Another reason to stop Personal Brain was because I realized that it gets too complex if you use it for project management. Updating an existing structure is time consuming and not very userfriendly.
One major issue with Personal Brain is that you can’t export the contents to Word or other formats (you can export to XML. This requires an additonal tool and XML knowledge). Further, I miss a basic outliner view (just showing the parent - child relationships).
I use Personal Brain for brainstorming and developing concepts and presentations. You can impress your audience a lot when you are using Personal Brain as the presentation tool! The people are always very excited and ask “What’s this?”.
Personal Brain is still one of my favorite tools despite the fact that I am not using it a lot. It has an outstanding visualisation approach compared to other products.
Regards,
Dominik
