Graham,

I think the first question you need to answer based on your actual needs is whether you really prefer to have an info manager which “internalises” information such as MyInfo or a structure of links to external files; in the latter case a program like IDEA! or Zoot might suit your needs, as perhaps would FileNotes which now supports virtual folders.

In the former case I would definitely suggest trying out UltraRecall 1.4, currently on Beta, soon to be officially released. OLE support is the best I’ve seen, import / export is getting better and better, and the program can maintain both an internal copy of each imported file and a link to the original.
