Neville,
I must disagree about the nature of this forum. I find the discussion lively and very interesting… not always, but frequently. I also learn about new and/or interesting applications that I had not heard of before… yours for instance… on this forum.
All opinions are welcome here. Clearly some people choose to participate simply by reading posts and not contributing their own (as judged by the number of “reads” for posts, which tend to get up into the 50s and 60s or higher). That is a perfectly fine way to participate, but it indicates to me that they find what is said here at least of some marginal interest.
I would also disagree with the private e-mail you received from which you quoted. I don’t believe the people on this list have closed minds about applications. On the contrary, most of us are eager to learn of new programs and try them, often to our bank-account’s displeasure… the whole CRIMP thing, you know. Most of us own at least half a dozen (and some of us far more) information management programs.
This forum is a wonderful group and I very much enjoy the give and take here… (Yes, I need to get a life, but I live in the woods of Vermont, so you’ll perhaps forgive me.)
Steve Z.
