My sense is that it is good to be as independent as possible.
I have a Yaho group that in two years has gone from 0 to 3,300 plus members. Yahoo isn't perfect, but 99 percent of the time it works well.
Many of the people active on Outliners.com can be found on about a dozen other lists I belong to.
