I admit to the term “state of the art.” But we’re talking about different things, which means my choice of terms wasn’t so great. I meant the information management art; you meant the art of the interface. But the two intersect, of course. A particular unattractive feature can be positive, negative, or neutral in its functionality. So I’d like to see what these particular interface aspects amount to.
But insofar as your argument is that the product is what really matters, but unfortunately many buyers won’t look below the surface—then why are you playing the role of encouraging people *not* to look below the surface? Wouldn’t it be more meritorious to resist or at least not encourage an unfortunate tendency?
