thanx guys.
I was considering ndxcards, but the trial version proved to be unstable for me (it crashed on 2 occasions, and data safety is of primary importance here, maybe the oncoming 1.94 version, I dont know). I purchased Supernotecards, but it provides me only with advanced outlining capabilities, it is not really a note taking program, neither is Writers Block.
TakeNote! seemed a perfect choice, maybe now ndxcards.
It is a shame Academix did not even bother to put out a note to their customers about what happened to them !
Personal Knowbase could be another choice, but no outlining capabilities there. I think hierarchical structure in note taking is a mistake, my brain just does not work that way. I need hierarchy only at the end of the proccess, till then the cards approach is the closest thing I could use!
The Literary Machine proved to be the best tool in this sense (I purchased the pro version some months ago, however its outlining is so clumsy that finally it proved to be useless in tha phase of my work.
Ndxcards then, would be the answer, but somehow I am uncomfortable to pay another 60 bucks after I have bought already 3 tools, of which none of them have become integral part of the work flow. What has was for free: Evernote. That is really a fantastic software, unfortunatelly it is best used in the early phase of data gathering.
Another promising software could be TinderBox. Only mac version, but they say are working on the Windows version. Anyone from the Mac community having an experience with that one?
