Funny, I forgot all about UR when writing that note. It has been on my candidates list, but I find that it is more complex than I need for my supplemental program. I am not saying MyInfo is a better program than UltraRecall, but for my purposes MyInfo has these advantages: it has the ability to access multiple databases via tabs (thus alleviating some of the clutter of a growing tree); I find the interface less intrusive to my work style (for instance, UR forces you to keep certain tree nodes visible, and it has so many panes that it gets a bit cumbersome). MyInfo allows me to create custom meta data columns, though these are not powerful as UR, but they are a bit easier to use, in my opinion.
If I couldn’t use Zoot and had to make either UR or MyInfo my primary information manager, I’d pick UR, no question. But as a supplemental program to Zoot, I don’t need all UR’s powerful features and find that they mostly get in my way.
