It seems to me there’s no way around clutter ultimately other than planning. Some programs position the planning before considerable data entry, as does Idea! and from what I hear, Zoot even more so; in others, like UR, one really must reorganize and prune data. I don’t think the idea of one big data repository that cares for itself is going to be workable, at least not until a considerable higher order of AI becomes available.
But if data are pruned, I don’t think most users will experience an ever-expanding database, because there’s also a limit to how much data is actually usable. Google and large disk drives have popularized the concept that you can just retain everything. I don’t think it’s realistic.
