It’s not just ingenuity. Peter has a pretty deep understanding of Word. Most of us probably know about splitting and combining tables, but at least I don’t know enough (or hardly anything) about macros. The macro is the centerpiece of Peter’s little application. Without the macro, the process would be inefficient.
Speaking of macros, someone mentioned Macro Express. I’ve heard the free program AutoHotkey is actually rather strong. Anyway, does anyone know whether a macro could be written to transfer data from one free form database to another, page by page, using the clipboard as intermediary? I can’t see why not. It would consume a lot of computer time, but that isn’t necessarily a problem, as you can run it at night. My personal experience with macros (from way back) is that long macros magnify any tiny glitch and eventually go awry. Is that impression warranted with current technology?
