Alex, your mail made me think…

This is indeed interesting, regarding information retrieval. This is what search engines won’t let us do yet, this is why we actually need to talk to people sometimes - when we want to find something that we don’t remember the name of, or simply that we don’t know how to describe it in relatively firm terms. I mean, when we only have a vague idea about what we want to find, we can remember something about this product, or whatever, but in a fuzzy, kind of subconscious way. Where we could reach the right answer by talking to a knowledeable person within that domain, and slowly identify what it is, we are actually looking for. I wonder if the semantic web will ease this process.
