<How much experience have you had with Firefox, and the obnoxiousness of folk like me (grin) aside, why do you favour IE so strongly?>
I don’t _strongly_ prefer IE. For a long time I liked Opera the most, but I’ve grown sick of the antics of the company and the demandingness and arrogance of its users, which I have to say is FAR worse than Firefox users; maybe even than Mac users. But I don’t strongly prefer any browser, because I think the difference is insignificant. Firefox must do more than show it is slightly better than IE, which I don’t believe it has, but _that_ point is debatable. What seems completely irrational, though, is the expectation that development resources be directed to integrating with Firefox instead of or in addition to IE, because Firefox plainly is not _that_ much better. Certainly not when MS has taken stock of the vulnerabilities in Windows, plans to lock down the next IE in the hardware, and provide tabs that will probably be better than Firefox’s. (But even if not, tabs or the iRider page-list even more so, are the innovation, and the goodness of the implementation as it exists among browsers today with the possible exception of iRider is really pretty trivial, except for symbolism and “making a statement.” Have you researched the speed tests? IE was a lot faster than FF 1 and 1.5 only brought it up to par. Opera is consistently the fastest.
