I’ve been using this product since v 2.0 (about 4 years)
I use it everyday.
It is a rock solid product.
Overall, Bonsai is super easy to use. In fact, it seems like it may be too simple, but after you use it, you discover lots of nice features under the hood.
The developer is quite active (check out their forums) and Bonsai has become a very nice product.

Here are some of the new things:
#1. It now runs as a stand alone app… In the past, you needed to use with a Palm PDA with it. If you use a Palm…. this is THE outliner for you.
#2. They have added a new feature/filter called “Next Action”... pretty cool feature… here is a link explaining it.

Scroll to the bottom for a good description.
This is from the web site:
# A custom numeric column with several roll-up options. Typical usage would be for project cost or duration calculation.(THIS IS VERY NICE FOR BUDGETS, COSTS….)
# Filter enhancements; Next Action, sorting Flat filters and filter Scope.
# Spell checker on the desktop (with check while you type in notes pane).
# Integration with Google Desktop for searching.
# The desktop OTL file format is now XML. This opens Bonsai to more integration possibilities on the desktop.
If you are looking for an outliner…. you need to check this one out!
