Thanks very much for posting this. MaxThink’s (DOS and WIN) bin-sort feature is indeed a powerful one, and illustrates the overlap that often exists between first and second stage outliners.
Although bin-sort has been touted as unique the MaxThink, GrandView has a somewhat similar sorting process whereby one can send the current headline and its subheadline to one of a list of previously-named headlines. MaxThink and GrandView have very similar outlining feature sets although, IMHO, GV is a much easier program to use.
