My first impressions of Maxthink is first positive - and then a big disappointment ... look further down…
Overall, I really like the way the application works.
You binsort by selecting tools/binsort - it gets into a binsort mode - when you type the bin number and press space, the item is put in that bin.
Actually, the help is not that bad - it is context sensitive, and is displayed all the time on the right.
It’s annoying that you can’t use Ctrl-arrow to jump from word to word in the edit window.
It IS slow - EXTREMELY slow. This might be THE showstopper to me. I tried to play around with the sample file, has only about 50 items…...
And OOOPS: I just tried to open that very sample file to check how many items, and the program crashed just like that!!! Gave a brief technical error message and terminated. Let’s see if the file I had made for experiments is still there…......... NOPE, OK, right, out we go, bye, bye Maxthink! I can’t use a program that trashes my data within the first √Ç¬Ω half of use.
What a pity - obviously a nice concept - but with huge technical problems.
Peter.
