Text tools without title fields

Does any tool exist out there, where you work with text snippets (without a title for each item, like in BrainStorm), and where you can assign hierarchical categories (ala Zoot's virtual folders) to those text snippets? And where you can then get the text snippets listed an a textual way under each category (in reality automatically generating an outline). If it also had groups of categories, like MDE Infohandler, it would be great.
This is of course in continuation with previous discussions here - but through our discussions I've become more and more aware of, what it really is that I need. I've understood, that the way that I work is that I encounter stuff - and get ideas - belonging to many different parts of my model (talkig BrainStorm-language).
Isn't this what many of us need for writing - a dumping ground for such text snippets - where you didn't even have to go into the program to add a text snippet, but just added a category, and had the possibility of seeing what you had accumulated so far it in a one pane outliner?
Peter.

This may be irrelevant, nevertheless I find it sufficiently interesting to post.
It's just another one of those little magnificent ways of working with Brainstorm. I had a huge list of stuff to organise, re activities of a large number of organisations; these were listed at the top of the list and normally, as mentioned elsewhere, I would have Marked each organisation in turn, scanned the document and Thrown what relevant entries I found.
Indeed I did this, but every once in a while I found some info that should have been Thrown to one of the organisations I had dealt with earlier. No sweat; I just typed the first letters of its name, right there where I was, then * and Enter to complete the entry as a namesake. Then I moved the said info as subsidiary to this entry; then press Ctrl+N to switch off Namesake for this entry; then deleted the entry to not get in the way.
Voila; the info was entered in the right place and I could carry on with the job at hand.
If the above sounds incomprehensible, just try it step by step.

Peter,
Have a look at the Maxqda2 tool.
It is developed for text and content analysis.
Here is the link:
http://www.maxqda.com/maxqda-eng/index.htm
To get the value from this application I suggest to work through the tutorial and the manual.
I do not use Maxqda2 because it is too expensive for me. But I think it is a very powerful text analysis and retrieval tool.
When I have to categorize notes I am using ADM. ADM allows to copy or write long text just in the topic. You can use the Metadata system and Keywords to categorize texts manually.
