>Remember that Zoot, in addition to virtual folders, has categories.
Zoot has straight forward categories and uses them as Outlook uses categories, indeed these categories sync with Outlook. You just chose the “categories” button at the bottom of the screen, when an item is selected. You can obviously edit this list.
You can also choose categories when you add a new item.
But you can also set up a column with a pick list of keywords. This is easier to do than explain.
You set up a folder which contains sub-folders. Each sub-folder named after a key word. You can then drag the folder into the item view and it creates a new column that contains a pick-list of all the keywords you have just created.
By then going to the folder with the same name as the keyword, all items categorised with that keword will appear in the folder.
I have just sarted to use Zoot as a URL manager, and when I “zoot” a URL into Zoot a dialog box pops up and allows me to choose keywords from a pick list before copying the URL into Zoot. The URL then appears filed in each of the folders matching the keywords that I chose for it.
