Two topics: Belgian restaurants & Office software
1. Belgian restaurants. Not sure why we couldn’t find a Belgian restaurant in downtown/old town Brussels. Perhaps all the Greek restaurants were better? My Greek/American friend pointed out that Greek restaurants always have the kitchens in the front where the customers can see the food being prepared & check on cleanliness.
2. I received the following just now. It was in a Ziff-Davis/PC Mag. newsletter.
“As Good as Office, Says StarOffice 8 Reviewer
“OK, it’s not free, although you can get the underlying
OpenOffice 2.0 version for free on the Web. But StarOffice8,
which just shipped Tuesday, offers a real alternative to
Microsoft Office—and costs just $70. It’s not perfect—
we did uncover some format inconsistencies that can make
migration tough. But it’s a great step forward, and a
wonderful product in its own right. Check out our review of
StarOffice 8 to see if it’s right for you—and if you’re
interested in the free stuff, our review of OpenOffice 2.0
will point you to what works and where to download it.
