Yes, iRider has an elegant interface and it is quick. But using FireFox with the appropriate tabbed browsing extension one can do almost exactly what you describe - i.e. “browse ahead” (by left-clicking on links while reading a page); and read unread pages, though by clicking on them rather than using a single key such as F4. Tabbing is more mouse-driven in FireFox, but there are keyboard sequences for moving through tabs, too (Ctrl+Tab).
So for me the attractions of iRider don’t unfortunately outweigh the downsides such as having to use IE with its perennial security problems, the lack of a range of applets comparable to those provided by FireFox’s extensions, and inability to work properly with Net Snippets.
