Steve -
I’ve been using Lotus Agenda since the early ‘90s, alongside Grandview. Most of the users I knew on their Compuserve forums moved over to Zoot, since that eventually provided almost everything Agenda did, and more. Others migrated to InfoHandler - though I have always found the interface had a rather cramped and claustrophobic feel to it (just a personal view).
Both Zoot and InfoHandler had special facilities for importing Agenda files, and that was very helpful when the time came to move. Jim Fallows and others shared their ideas and expertise on CIS on doing research and writing articles using GV and Agenda together, and a lot of them now use Zoot with Brainstorm or NoteMap - or both - to do the same tasks.
I used Agenda+GV for all my teaching and research until about a couple of years ago when I moved to Zoot. I still have one Agenda db, however, that I use on a daily basis - can’t bear to give it up completely :-). I’m also still using Grandview, although I’ve registered Brainstorm and am toying with a Brainstorm > NoteMap > Word alternative.
Incidentally, transferring outline files between Brainstorm and Grandview is a pretty flawless process both ways. If Brainstorm beefed up its exporting to Word, it would provide yet another way of getting Grandview outlines into Word (the others being, as you have often noted, Inspiration or NoteMap).
