One of those sexy things back in the late eighties, maybe Lotus Agenda, had a handy function where textual date information, such as “today”, “next monday” etc. rather intelligently was transformed to the correct dates. This was one of the hidden treasures I would expect to find in Zoot, but I couldn’t find it in the help. It should work everywhere in an item, so that you could easily insert a date like that. You can bring up a calender and pick a date from there - but it is not REALLY class, like it would be if it could automatically transform text that should be considered a date.
This could even be extended, so that you could use it for other information in the database/project. If, let’s say, you had columns named “phone” and “spouse”, it could automagically write the phone number of John Doe, if I wrote “phone of John Doe”. If I wrote “spouse of John Doe”, it would suggest “Jane Doe”.
Wouldn’t that be a “zootish” feature?
Regards, Peter.
