Hi Sebastien.
>>But it would be better to have all in 1 app:
- word processor
- version control
- outline and anotations
>>and Ulysses seems to be the best software on earth to do that!
Well, version control is not implemented, and the outliner will be improved. But nevertheless it seems to be the best package available on Mac OS and Windows (at least, I haven¥t found a better one).
However, sometimes I do not feel really comfortable in the word processor. I will be switching between Mellel and Ulysses for the next
3 weeks to look which one suits me best.
One scenario might be to write the chapters for my novel in Mellel, import them in Ulysses and finish the book there.
>>About Zoot, I only use outliners in a very “common” way, so Treepad is enough to me. What’s the equivalent on the Mac side ?
Well, as far as outliners are concerned, the best are
* OmniOutliner (http://www.omnigroup.com)
* Tao (http://blue-beach-systems.com/Products/Software/TAO/)
A really good source covering outlining on the Mac is http://www.atpm.com (go to the archive and select “outliners”.
But the equivalents to Treepad are
* Curio (http://www.zengobi.com) - really interesting database for almost any kind of media files
* Circusponies Notebook (http://www.circusponies.com)
* Aquamind Notetaker (http://www.aquamind.com)
* Sticky Brain (http://www.chronosnet.com)
* and off course Devonnote and Devonthink (Devonthink is a superset of Devonnote)
