Hi Graham.
>Open Office always looks attractive, whenever I give it a try, but I didn’t think it had any outlining tools, I am obviously mistaken.
Sorry. You are not mistaken.
OpenOffice.org does not have an outlining mode such as Microsoft Word. I just type in the headings, format them and move them around using the mouse or keyboard.
>I used Infoselect since version 1 for Windows, but drifted away from it as it seemed to become more complex, a very disappinting and costly purchase of the Palm version and what seemed to be upgrades that offered me a couple of important new features and lots of others that I didn’t really want.
I know what you mean. I don¥t need a mail client and a calendar in my info database. Over time, they have been adding more and more features that I will never use.
>However, you may wait a long time for an RTF enabled Zoot :-(
I was afraid that someone would say that.
>But as you may nhave seen elsewhere, I get around the formatting issue by simply linking the files to Zoot, Zoot shows the first 32k of the text and then I open the file with its native program if I want to read it.
I don¥t think this is really helpful for me. Parts of my info databases consist of snippets from web sites, mails or word processor files. When I open a note I want it to appear in a window inside my info manager - I do not want a browser, an editor or a word processor to be opened. Apart from that, I need to be able to quickly export notes for use on my Mac.
Nevertheless: Thanks for the hint.
Franz
