Thanks for the link; I just registered Notemap at the reduced price.

Interestingly, I downloaded the trial version and got a friendly informational e-mail from Casesoft that said nothing of the special offer. In fact, it states:

“PRICING: NoteMap is $149 per user license. NoteMap 2 Upgrades for NoteMap 1 users are $99 per user license.”

I would have expected this kind of offer to be forwarded to new downloaders during the promo period.

Initially, I am planning to use Notemap as an intermediate step between Brainstorm and Word, as Graham has suggested in the past. As such, it works very well. $74 might be rather high a price for a replacement to Brainstorm’s Word macro, but it will be a while before I make changes to my creative work process, which I’m quite content with for the moment.

However, the program has potential; it is well thought-out and integrates nicely, even in terms of looks, with the MS Office environment. I can see why professionals are willing to pay $149 for it, though I don’t think I would.

I had tried Inspiration as a similar tool in the past, but I find Notemap much more focused.

(I know all the above sounds like a justification for CRIMP; come to think of it, perhaps it is)
