I have been testing NoteMap 2.0 for several days now. Overall, I like the product and especially the clean and easy export to Word. The reason I haven't bought it so far is that it cots $149 what is a a lot of money for me.

Casesoft is offering me a special price until end of August of $74. This is a reduction of 50% and this makes me really think to buy NoteMap. But this offer raises some questions: Why such a huge rebate? Will the product be developed further or will it be phased out? Or is version 3.0 around the corner and the upgrade form 2 to 3 will cost an addional $70 (or even more)?

You might think I am too critical but my experience with buying software is that I can't be too careful in selecting an application and a vendor.

Dominik

Why are you getting a special price?

I am in the same position, but would buy it today if it were $74.

As to your question, difficult as it is I think you have to consider the value of the program to you "today" as expereince would suggest it is impossible to predict what might happen to a program.

Casesoft uses NoteMap to give potential users a taste for their software, as their other products are the bigger money-makers (I assume). There's usually a big NoteMap sale in the summer and another around Christmas. Since it's a recurrent event, I don't think it implies anything about NoteMap's future.

At $74, NoteMap is a great deal. If I recall correctly, the cost of upgrading from version 1 to version 2 was more than that, maybe $90.

Well, I have just bought a license, at $74 its too good an opportunity to miss.

I emailed CaseSoft, and asked if they had any special deals on at the moment, alluding to a $74 price tag and they sent me a web link.

Thanks you Dominik, I was on the verge of paying the full price :-)

Hello,

I've just download the demo and tried every feature. Very nice app indeed.

But, as for me, there is one big missing feature: internal links! This is crucial to me when I organize my data (a node is often linked to others).

Anyone using NoteMap and having the same problem ?
