I bought askSam about four or five years ago when they offered the opportunity to purchase the professional (indexing) version at the same price as the standard version, $99 or something close to that. I agree that the normal price of the professional version is too expensive. Of course, I’ve upgraded twice since then, $80 a pop. askSam isn’t my PIM of choice—Zoot is—but the times I do need it, I find it is very handy. It is one of the few PIMs that allows you to print tabular reports of your data… although I think its reporting function is weaker than they’d like to admit. It’s even easier to just output the data to a CSV file, then open it in Excel.
