Lawyers are the worst penny-pinchers around. The reasons for the high price are mainly: excellent technical support, by telephone or email; 90-day return guarantee.

I think the customer support was essential for CaseSoft’s success in the legal industry. With NoteMap, the program is marketed as much easier to use than Word’s outliner, which confuses many users—but if you market to the confused, you need excellent support.

But the prices are high for those who don’t require support.
