Any concensus on this program.
I am finding that I have a kind of no mans land between Brainstorm and a Word Processor.
This is when I still want to be restructuring the document, but I also want to be formatting and filling in the detail.
I suspect that one of the reasons is that I use a lot of scientific names which need to be in italics, and I really want to add these as I go along. The other main reason is that I find that no matter how much planning I do, when I begin filling in the detail, I realise that I need to rethink and restructure elements of the report.
I do have some "WorkArounds" for the problem but NoteMap "seems" a good candidate for this and Brainstorm Outlines paste in rather nicely.
I have serched the archives and there are soem mixed opinions on it, but I'm not sure whether soem of these refer to version 1 or version 2.

Graham,
I think Notemap is a terrific program. It has most of the key outlining features. One thing it lacks is inline text... that is, every item is treating like a topic. (In GrandView, text could be added as a part of any topic, and would move around with that topic wherever you put it.) I think Stephen Diamond has a few other quibbles with it that I don't recall off the top of my head. For me it is a great program. That being said, I find I don't use it as much as I would have expected, especially since I found Brainstorm. But I don't tend to need to format text until the final stages of writing, and by then I'm in the word processor.
If NoteMap 3 (assuming there is one someday) adds meta data to each topic and provides for inline text, then it will be darn near GrandView and I might not need many other programs.
