Daly,
In my opinion the fact that the text is in a separate window from the headings, and not inline with the headings makes it a little less than a full-blown outliner in the mode of GrandView or Notemap. This is the case with all two-pane outliners. The reason I think it is more of an outliner than the typical tree-based apps is its numbering and the nifty interface that facilitates doing the “outline” building. Still, in my view (and that’s all this is), ADM is more of a data manager than an outliner, though it serves the latter function better than most multi-pane apps.
