It’s more complicated than that, as the outlime might be a lot more than what fits on the screen, not to mention collapsed branches.
Apparently, the actual tree module is something that Microsoft provides “as is” and the associated functions and limitations are more or less standard.
For example, as often noted in this forum, most of these programs do not provide Undo for changes in the outline structure. Amazing, but true.
