Hello group,

I found a review of EverNote at SearchEngingeWatch today:
http://searchenginewatch.com/searchday/article.php/3519736

Here is a description of the product:
EverNote 1.0 is designed to give users a single place for all types of notes and information and to make them instantly accessible at anytime, in any place. EverNote makes it easy to store and quickly access typed and handwritten memos, webpage excerpts, emails, phone messages, addresses, passwords, brainstorms, sketches, documents and more.

More here:

Has anybody tested this tool yet?
Is it really something new?

Kind regards,
Dominik

I've been trying the beta version of EverNote. It is fairly unique. You store all your notes in one place, and they are tag and ordered by date... the metaphore is a long, scrolling tape. But it also has some sophisticated categorization functions, which allow you to set up folder-filters that can automatically filter notes based on certain keywords. Notes can be classified as a single to do, a to do list, and others, which I don't recall. I believe there are other ways to parse notes. To me the program EN most emulates is Zoot, though the two programs don't resemble one another at all. EN has the advantage of storing formatted text. I think Zoot's categorization and organizing capabilities are superior, as is its data capturing ability. EN does have a strong appeal, however. I don't know what additional features may be in the public release version... I guess there is still a free version and a pro version.

I would look seriously at EN if I weren't happy with Zoot.

Dominik, I've tried EverNote, and it is rather snazzy. I think it is well thought out, and it seems to do what it is designed to do -- even in Beta form. I prefer structure, so am attracted to programs that allow me to use an outline. Also, I like the metadata column approach. So programs like ADM, InfoHhandler, Ultra Recall, are what I use.
