Sarah, though I have downloaded DoOrganizer 2 I have not really texted it out. I am curious about it, but not likely to use it b/c I am essentially low tech when it comes to my planning activities—TimeDesign, a police style notebook, 3 x 5 index cards in the notebook folder.
I think, from what I saw, that DO offers a neat integration/linking of one’s activities, probably in a more elegant and advanced manner than IS.
Also, DO offers an email client (I haven’t tested it), which one would hope is significantly better than the convoluted approach to email InfoSelect has developed.
I used InfoSelect for a while, and got very frustrated with its limitations, and what seemed to be a “couldn’t care less” approach taken by MicroLogic toward supporoting the product.
My need is to contain a great deal of information, and to be able to access it easily. Increasingly I am depending on UltraRecall and MDE InfoHandler as my information data bases. Both are, to my mind, much more functional than InfoSelect, which is long in the tooth, and needs to be reworked to compete with today’s new programs.
If DO had the capability to access the web that UR has, it might be a program I would consider using, rather than simpler checking out because of interest in this kind of program.
I have taken a look at ndxCards again, this time more closely, and realize that it is just about what I want for a note-taking and writing program. The nice thing with ndxCards is one can open up and position a number of cards at once. It also has some bibliographic capabilities.
In some ways UR probably comes closest to being a replacement product for InfoSelect.
