My impression is that Visual Concept’s publisher is not actively developing the program. The guy who seems to be in charge was apparently the conceptualizer of the project, but is not a programmer. They seem to use the program as an adjunct in consulting; they may in fact prefer using physical hexagons to virtual ones. They can be most helpful if you ask them something they know about, say in the realm of use rather than programming issues.
The program is not as mature as I initially thought, perhaps more or less what you’d expect at version 2.5, considering that Visual Mind is at version 7; same give or take Mind Manager, if I recall. I wonder what caused the split in the hexagonal modeling camp, an event that seems to have disrupted development. There’s a similar split in the Macintosh pim world, if you compare the Mac OS X programs NoteBook and NoteTaker and their histories.
