I tend to see this as optional, because it isn’t something I do. I record when something is due and guide my efforts accordingly, but I haven’t found assigning work time in a calendar something I can actually follow. The Masterlist has features that help do it my way, such as bumping an event up n number of days. But looking at an actual calendar is alien to me, which might help explain why I wasn’t keen on the idea of putting a calendar in every pim.
If someone likes the project-orientation of The Masterlist, but wants to assign dates to work, I think another “masterlist,” bearing no relation to the first, is a good choice. (Masterlist Professional http://www.safarisoftware.com) It has a lot of nice gimmicks for motivation also, like assigning points to various accomplishments.
