I hope I didn’t give the impression that I charged ADM with data integrity and other integrity issues because the program is buggy or because it has been subject to data loss. (Or that I ever suffered data loss with ADM. I never trusted much data to it.) It is buggy, but that’s a far cry from the basis for such a serious condemnation.
No, the general integrity issues have to do with their practice of stonewalling and denial when these problems were mentioned; their practice of having stalwarts flame users who complain; their double standards and equivocation (‘What do you expect from beta software,’ coupled with ‘why are you complaining about version 3, when we have a beta out that deals with those issues’); their false advertising concerning customer care responsiveness; and their long-term indifference to structural design choices that compromise data security (such as dividing the data file in processing and making it a complex process to backup the data, without revealing the complexitities to the customer). These signs were present long ago. In this forum it was early on pointed out (by Stever Zeoli) that the developer responded to questions about delays (of v 3) with evasion and false promises.
