Stephen, some feedback.
I wish you were among the “trusted testers,” and think that is probably the best place for you, even if, at times, you become a PITA for Eric (grin).
Re what happened at the ADM Fans group, I believe there was over reaction and that you should never have been banned.
Re your concern about how the issue regarding data integrity was handled, I wish also that there had been greater transparency and recognition from the development side earlier on. Had it been there may not have been the defensiveness of some people, who perhaps do not look as deeply into issues as you do.
I do disagree with your conclusions about non-data related integrity problems. Perhaps it is my naive nature, but I think that Eric is honestly trying to do his best in a siutation where he has too much to do, and too little time. In an objective sense, the upshot of such a situation is that even the most ethical of people may throw off signs of ethical indifference when they get bogged down in too much work. If that is the case, then it is good to flag it, and you may have done Eric a real favour by doing so.
If I were you, I would write Eric about rejoining the development group. I miss your voice over there.
