Yes, I noticed that. Too bad. Otherwise, IR would be a great writing solution. Here’s what I like about it from my brief re-trial yesterday:
1a. It manages multiple databases well, especially searching across databases and making it easy to pop back and forth between them. This lack is one of the big weaknesses of UltraRecall in my opinion.
1b. The search function, overall, is very powerful.
2. They’ve added a system tray icon that provides access to several useful functions, including pasting the clipboard… not a revolutionary idea, and not nearly as nimble as Zoot or ADM, but at least it’s there now.
3. The implementation of templates is a nice touch… pop up dialog boxes that you fill in, and then, upon clicking “okay” are pasted into the open note. This isn’t the same as the template feature of UR or some other programs, but it is a handy and practical feature.
4. I haven’t yet noticed any of the squirrelly behavior that plagued earlier releases… maybe I just need to give it time.
5. At $50 US, the price is right.
This is a just a priliminary review, but I’m encouraged to keep plucking away at it.
