In the past, when I was considering the purchase of a mind mapper, I was more disposed to MindGenius because—if memory serves me well—it seemed to have better project management features, and I liked the fact that it served up an outline view of your map… the lower price was also attractive. What bothered me was that the company kept track of how many times I downloaded the trial version—if they offered a new one, I tried it to see what improvements were made—and sent me what seemed like a petulant note saying something along the lines of “we’ve noticed you’ve downloaded our product several times and wonder if you’re really interested in purchasing it.” That struck a sour note with me. Why wouldn’t they want potential customers to continue to trial new versions?
I have come to the conclusion that none of the mind mapping programs is worth their expense to me. I can make do with BrainStorm and Freemind.
