Actually, I’m embarrassed to say, I didn’t actually try it. The MyLifeOrganized developer said his program functioned similarly to the Llamagraphics, whom I emailed when their bulletin board kept timing out. The sales director of Llamagraphics seemed to confirm, saying that they “didn’t encourage” discussion of their algorithm for fear that they would end up wasting a lot of time. The sales director seemed to say that my worry that an important task could be buried in an unimportant project was spurious, because if the task was that important, it didn’t belong there.
But as I re-read her email to me, I think there was probably a mutual misunderstanding, because when I actually experiment with the sliders, it works out as it should, at least to an approximation.
