Some forum members have bemoaned the lack of flexibility in arranging the panes in Idea! (Some were heard to say, “The panes are a big pain.”)
They might be pleased to hear Christian’s latest announcement on the subject, at least partly as a result of Jack’s persuasion:
>We see the benefits to make the panes floating and freely adjustable by the user and have decided to implement it in the next version (not the next release).
>We also agree that the interface is not a “standard interface” but let me say a few words why we have done it like it is, and which thoughts have led the developement.
>The philosophy behind the interface was to place all functions and actions which are often used directly on the screen so that they are instantly available. We have not put most of the functions which are directly available, in the menus as we think it makes the menus clearer (general thought: less is sometimes more!).
End quote.
