Graham,
I want to first emphasize that I am not contending that the diagramming is not functional. It is, and you can do a lot with it. What bothers me is that it is often frustrating to use. For instance, build a diagram, arrange it… Now, rearrange the diagram manually to get it just right… but then you want to add some detail. Instead of using the arranging pattern you selected, it just adds these new nodes in a web, so now you need to use the auto arrange again and then all the tinkering you did is lost. Frustrating.
If you’ve stacked the lowest level items, just try to select the link to one in particular… the links are all stacked as well, and you can’t tell one from the other. Frustrating.
These shortcomings may simply be inherent in this type of program, and my expectations may be unreasonable. So I suggest really using the diagramming for a while. If you don’t get frustrated by it, then you can ignore my comments.
